Local Events:

Despite the ravages of Foot & Mouth in 2001, Settle rallied round to continue with many events, culminating in the best Christmas event for many years - "Settle in the Snow".

This year we will be building on this to fight back with More, Bigger & Better Events than ever. While our Events Calendar lists all events for the year, we have some special events already arranged that shouldn't be missed:

Settle Flag Festival 2002

Previous Flag Festivals in Settle have been a great success, giving colour and an air of summer to the town. This year the Festival started when the flags went up on the 26th May. From the 31st there was a pavilion in the market square, and the Knights of Longshanks conducted battle renactments on the 1st and 2nd of June. The festival continued through the Jubilee on the 3rd & 4th with more events in the town.

The flags came down on the 23rd of June.

On the 20th July Settle Rotary is holding a Petticoat Lane in Settle, and on the 17th August this year the Settle / Malham challenge walk will be held.

The Christmas lights switched on will be 30th November; "The Snowmen Return".
